Today is a new global day of giving. #GivingTuesdayNow encourages generosity, citizen engagement, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.
COVID-19 has impacted everyone and it is important to remember that in this time of adversity, we must continue to support one another with compassion and unity.
Here are some ideas on how you can participate in this year’s #GivingTuesdayNow:
- Support healthcare workers by donating supplies, advocating for them, and staying home.
- Give to the organizations that you love most
- Help out small businesses by buying gift cards or writing an online review.
- Combat loneliness by reaching out to a neighbor, relative, seniors or veterans.
We encourage everyone to take a moment and think about an organization and community you have once supported. Animal shelters, museums, alma maters, scholarship and medical charities – just to name a few – are being affected by this global crisis. By contributing whatever you can, you are making a difference and securing the future.
“Every act of kindness is not only a beacon of hope, it’s a critical act of civic and social solidarity.” – Asha Curran, CEO of GivingTuesday
