Upcoming AHLFC Meetings and Training Opportunities
Advancing Health Literacy Franklin County’s Partner Advisory Committee (PAC) brings together members of Franklin County Public Health’s (FCPH) Equity Advisory Committee and Columbus Public Health’s (CPH) Health Literacy Committee to help support increasing organizational health literacy in our county. The PAC serves as a steering committee, providing input and feedback on our initiative. PAC members participate in and help promote our training opportunities. In addition, PAC members are called upon to engage in various health literacy opportunities, including staff training, pilot projects, QI/evaluation efforts and more. **PAC meeting date TBD**
Columbus Health Literacy Committee meets every other month to learn about different topics tied to Health Literacy. **Next meeting date TBD**
Health Literacy Conference will be in March of 2024. Please stay tuned for more information to come.
Health Equity through Diversity, Action and Learning Conference will be October 2023 the 13th-14th. This conference will be addressing institutional racism through policy/advocacy, human resources, and patient interactions, and will discuss ways to create conversations, cultivate relationships for change and find ways to collaborate across industry and disciplines to address health disparities within Black and brown communities.

Cultural Competency/CLAS Training Series will be conducted by ETSS and Dr. Cora with the Ohio Asian Collation. This series will explore cultural diversity, discuss bias, and hear firsthand how we can support our friends and neighbors as they deal with barriers and challenges.
Digital Health Literacy Training Series for fall 2023 through spring 2024! To ensure trainings reflect the most up-to-date best practices and cutting-edge insights, we’ve engaged CommunicateHealth – a leader in digital health literacy and accessible design – to lead them. We will be updating our training schedule soon, so be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks.
