Asian Services in Action (ASIA) and other AAPI advocacy groups will go to the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday, May 23rd to advocate for the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in Ohio. We will meet with state legislators to discuss our causes.
We will advocate for the following:
-The creation of a Commission on AAPI Affairs
-The inclusion of AAPI History in K-12 public school curriculum
– Policies and funds that increase culturally and linguistically appropriate resources and services to address mental health and inter-generational trauma issues among AAPI, refugee, and immigrant communities

Cost: FREE, but registration is required! Regional bus transportation from Akron and Cleveland will be available and lunch will be provided.
ASIA and other AAPI Advocacy groups will go to the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus on May 23 to speak with elected officials. We can use our collective voices to show officials that community members care about this matter and compel Ohio’s state government to act.
